Size and Design: The bunker is an enormous underground complex, spanning about 6,000 square meters (about 64,000 square feet). It was equipped with everything needed to survive a nuclear attack, including living quarters, communication centers, a hospital, and even a replica of Tito's presidential office.
Secrecy: Tito's bunker remained largely unknown to the public until after the dissolution of Yugoslavia in the early 1990s. The facility was intended to protect Tito and his close advisers from a potential nuclear strike during the Cold War.
Post-Tito: After Tito's death in 1980 and the subsequent fall of the Yugoslav government, the bunker was largely forgotten by the public. However, it has since become a historical landmark and a tourist attraction, showcasing the Cold War-era tensions and the extremes taken by leaders to secure their survival in the event of global conflict.

Key Features of Tito's Bunker:
Location: The bunker is located in the mountains near the town of Konjic, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The site was selected due to its strategic location and natural features that made it ideal for concealment and protection.
Construction: The bunker was built between 1953 and 1979, primarily by Yugoslav military engineers, and was kept a closely guarded secret until after the breakup of Yugoslavia in the 1990s.
